One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #1: Restocking the Shelves

It has been a while since I took the time to photograph any of my cards.  I dont have an area set up any more to take the photos, so please bear with me on the photographic style here. 

I love the PTI embroidery stamp set.   I used PTI inks but random cardstock I had.  Embellished with some pearls.  I couldn't get a good photo of this one.

This one was an experiment with Dazzle Versamark ink and a bunch of snowflakes, then a gold marker pen and the PTI thank you stamp.

This one is just a simple repeat of a little flower from Stampin up with a bunch of PTI colored stamps and a Tiny Tags thank you stamp.

  I used Memento for the black, and the snowman I used colored pencils and gamsol.

Wow I have many PTI stamps but not a one with any kind of straight line.  This one is the closest I have, from Out on a Limb set.  I used the greeting and other little tree from Autumn Hills.

Terribly Lax in posting

Hi all, I have just been horrible at taking any photos of my cards lately.  Honestly its a pain in the but to post photos.  Nothing has really been super crazy unique or special and have not had the motivation to do any challenges nor contests.  I have been sending my Grandmother in the nursing home a card every week so am still crafting all the time, plus going monthly to Stampin up card classes, as well as the occasional Archivers card class.  I recently did their 12 tiny tags class and it was so much fun!  I am making the little mittens for my tags for Christmas this year.  As soon as I figure out how to fix it so the photos upload easier I will try to post more.

Sympathy Cards

I took a break from card making but after a class I am ready to get back into it.  I got an order from Papertrey Ink and had to use my stuff!  This is the new PTI Heart 2 Heart  #10 set.  I got the dies that go with it too.  I used various papers I had, PTI smokey shadow and raspberry fizz inks, washi tape (wow I really need more) and gems I had.

Copic Certification Classes complete!

Wow what an extraordinarily busy two days!  I attended the Copic Standard and Intermediate classes this past week and wow it was hard but it was also fun.  I met a lot of really great people including our instructor Colleen Schaan.

Friday was the Standard Cert class.  This class has more lecture than coloring, but we still got to try several things.  Some of these are rather boring without context but it gives you an idea of the stuff we did.  We did some blending and some experimentation with the colorless blender here:

Then Saturday, an extra long day, was the Intermediate.  Wow I have to say, if you are not familiar with Copics, and have not either done Colleen Schaan's books, this class could be overwhelming.  There were a few concepts that were difficult, especially people, for me, but now I know what I need more work on.  Here is some of the work I did for that class.  There is a great section on trees, which nature really is more of what I like to color, we did some work on faces, and hair which you can also see below, and then a lighting one with the candle.

And then the last two hours of class we spent coloring our final project.  This lovely lilac:

I think it turned out great!  The scanner just doesn't do it justice.

Cooking with Cricut #100

Welcome to Cooking With Cricut’s very special SURPRISE “Thank You” Blog Hop. Why is it so special? There are a couple of reasons! The first reason -- it is our 100th Cooking With Cricut challenge and the second (and most important) is to thank our wonderful leader and “Executive Chef” Melinda Beltran.

Melin started the Cooking With Cricut challenges in October 2010 to encourage crafters to find new and different ways to use their Cricut cartridges. And she has accomplished that and so much more! She has given scores of crafters a place on her Design Teams which quickly turned into a sisterhood of women, who care for each other; who encourage each other; who lift each other and their families up in prayer; and who have shared their hearts and their art through many outreach projects.

Today's my last post as a Designer for Cooking with Cricut.  My paper crafting is shifting focus away from Cricut and I felt it was time to pass on the reins.   It has been a lot of fun this past year and I have really enjoyed everyone on the team.  Please continue to follow me, and see where my crafting goes next.

Today's challenge is:
Black & White – use black and white and a small amount of kraft/neutral paper.

For today's card, I used a kraft base, and a black background.  I cut out the little cloud type shapes with CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  The bird is a die from Papertrey Ink with matching stamps called Tweet Talk which I cut out of craft and stamped with True Black and raised with a pop dot.  Inside the card it says "it's your birthday" in black.  Simple but fun!   I donated this card to Madison's I feel the love campaign.

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 167

Been a bit since I posted.  Had two weeks in hot and sunny PA for vacation and the pre and post vacation activities have really taken up the time. There are still remnants of the PaperTrey Ink Stamp-a-Faire activities on my desk...I need to clean that up.

Not much going on right now with paper crafting, though I got this lovely box in the mail when I returned full of Pink Paislee stuff, so much happier with this grab box than the one I got last time from another company.

Another thing of note, they are having Copic certification classes near here in October and I have signed up! Should be lots of fun!
