This week Throwback thursday, PK #20 and Cricut Circle #37

Here is this week's new card:

I created this with Just Because cards cricut cartridge.  I accidentally cut out two of the pickle under layers so decided why not use it!  Plus it gave me a chance to add another Peachy Keen Face.  The lighter pickle I highlighted with my new copic marker! (I now have 3)  I used the colorless blender to try to shade it but I need more practice with them.

This card is for Throwback Thursday July 21 ,

My Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge project

This looked so cool on videos, but whew its a lot harder to do when they are small.  This one I cut on 2.5 inches.  I bet the bigger ones are easier, maybe another time I will try it.

This week's Challenges are for Cooking with Cricut, Color Throw Down, and the Paper Variety

The little guys are supposed to be lollipops, Michael thought they looked more like balloons, but I made the "sticks" straight to try to facilitate the lollipop idea.  I used a rainbow pallet, including the main colors of the rainbow in the paper of the lollipops,

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #28

The theme for Challenge #28 is Cool It!.

Create a card, layout, multi media piece, tag, ATC, hair bow, you name it. Just be sure to follow the theme above and use ribbon/lace or trim somewhere on your project.

Just a small amount of ribbon, but its there!!

I love making new cards and especially love the challenge of making one card for multiple challenges.  I cant decide if I should post them all on the same blog post, or make them separate, so for this time, I will try it with them separate.  For this card, I had several layers of papers all from my old stash, and did the glass of cool drink from the Cricut Lite Love You Latte cartridge at 2.5 inches.  I layered the sentiment with a little green ribbon and a neat brad from a box I got off of Ebay.

MAG Challenge #34 and Challenge #42: Pen or Marker Work or a Sun

I was surprised this week, that one design would fit for two challenges.  I wonder if these two are in cahoots lol!

Here is my design:

Every cut is from the cartridge, I welded the shadow, mirrored to make it into a card.  On layer1 I cut the base flower at 5 inches and then set up in Gypsy another layer and did one with the Cricket Markers at 4.5 inches on top of it.  I think I got it lined up pretty close.  I also used the inside of layer2 instead of the image you would expect.  The circle face is layer3.  Had to use my peachy keen face stamps!  I added some super tiny i-rocks in the smile edge, white gel pen on the eyes and stitching.  Distress ink all over, and of course embossed the dark pink, and lightly brushed distress ink over it to bring out the embossing.  Add a little bow and bingo!

In case you wonder what the details of the challenges are:

CRICUT 360º - Challenge # 2

Found another site who likes to host challenges, I just love getting inspiration from the ideas and see all the great cards folks make.

CHALLENGE # 2
  • Are you ready for our second challenge?... Design a thank you card, but it has to be a circle card.
For this one I used my Love You a Latte cartridge, and the circle card is from I think Wild Cards. The paper is from my scrap bin except for the gold is from the Cut Mates pack.  This is the first time that I used my Cricut Markers, and wow that was fun!  I embellished with some little flowers I had from a Club Ruby kit, some gems with my i-rock, some Crystal Stickles and some Ranger Tea Dye Distress Ink.  The only part that didnt turn out as I wanted, I used the Circut marker to outline the yellow flower, for more dimension, but it looks a little sloppy.

Let's Face It Friday Challenge #19 July 8, 2011

-----------------------------
THE CHALLENGE
-----------------------------
Patterns can pack a huge punch, even when used in subtle ways. This week, we want you to pull out your favorite patterned products {whether it's paper, creating your own pattern, or repeating elements} and pair them with your PK Faces for a project of your choice!
  • Project must be new
  • Must incorporate Peachy Keen Faces
  • Please link directly to your blog post (not blog address)
  • Link by 7/20 - 11:59 pm CDT
----------------------------
MY RESULTS
-----------------------------

Well, I am not quite as happy with this one as others I have done.  I tried to use entirely patterned papers - to see what that looks like, and whew, that really doesnt look good to me.  I think I should have used plain colors for the shadow or back layer.

I used my Celebrate with Flourish Lite Cricut cartridge, and my Rag Doll Faces from Peachy Keen, some pop dots, blank ink, some white lace that I colored with my distress inks, a little flower I found in my stash, with i-rock gem.

A Jumble of Previous Contest Posts for the past few months, a good reason to start a blog!

This is a bunch of photos of some cards that I have made and sent in to previous contests, etc.  No particular order, and sorry they are all jumbled together with no comments, no idea what I used to  make them, and they dont have listed the contest rules.

Will start the next one with more documentation and make each card its own blog post.

Peachy Keen Challenge #55 ~ Episode 206

I made this for my doctor, remember back when Doctor's did house calls?
Also submitted this one for http://www.cookingwithcricut.com/2011/07/challenge-41.html

Katie decided to make an entry to the Peachy Keen sketch challenge #55

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #35: Patriotic Pride Challenge!

I have been a member of Cricut Circle for months now and just realized they have weekly and monthly contests.  They dont make the blog easy to get to.  This week the challenge is to use this sketch and make something:
So here is what I came up with.  These are pictures I took of birds right outside my home office window.

I used the Winter Wonderland cartridge with the bird2 tag at 3 inches with its shadow, the font in all capitals on 2 inches, the branch on 4.5 inches (berries also at 4.5 inches) then I cut an extra set of berries and put them on randomly wherever they fell when I dropped them.  The large green strip is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile.  The bottom and little top white strip I smashed distressed ink on to match.  Its on a background of scrapbook paper that is green woodgrain under plain brown paper.

This months monthly challenge required a tic tac toe of choices
So I used a cut of a flower, ric rac and a sun shape.

The flower pot is from Disney Pooh and friends, the butterfly is from Walk in my Garden, the THANKS is from Beyond Birthdays, and the sun is from Doodlecharms.

Weekly Challenge #33: Sweet Summertime Challenge!

The Challenge: What makes summertime “sweet” to you? Ice cream treats? Watermelon? Popsicles? Whatever it is we want you to include the shape of your favorite summertime sweet treat on your project. But that’s not all! Raid your stamp stash and incorporate them somewhere on your project as well. Have fun!

This is my first attempt using the Cricut Gypsy to weld together an image:
