Cooking with Cricut #89

Here is the graduation card box that I made for Michael's graduation.  The idea started here with a round box for the base.  I wanted to make it the right size for a 12x12 sheet of cardstock for the top mortar board,  but also be able to get the sides out of no more than a sheet of 12x12 cardstock, so I used this calculator and made a 7 inch circle. Instead of the top of the box, I attached the 12x12 paper on top and cut a slit in it for cards.  I used white card stock for the bottom, since I was limited on how much black I had plus thought it would make it easier to see inside.

I cut out the letters and circle with my Cricut using the Gypsy and Kate's ABCs.  I then embellished it with some stickers, gems and rub-ons I had in my stash.  I made some 'tickets' with Papertrey Ink "Just the ticket" die in my Cuttlebug and stamp set.

I also took a bunch of scrap cardstock and made squares that I put next to this with pens so if anyone wants to write Michael any advise or wishes, they can also drop them into the hat.  You can see a few in there already that I have collected.

Make It Monday #69: Inspiration Into Unique Sketches

This is my take on this challenge.  You have to use at least one Papertrey Ink product and the layout/template from the challenge.

The card base is Papertrey Ink Hawaiian Shores cardstock.  I also used Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, and  Harvest Gold inks on the polkadot stamping layer.  

The patterned 2 sided paper and sticker are from October Afternoon and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I played around with a few paper flowers but to me more was distracting.

This is also entered in RRR Challenge #49 Flowers and Ribbon Theme for the flowers and ribbon on the card :)

Now  a question for those peeking here, when you click a link to look at a card posted on a challenge site, are you expecting or wanting a list of supplies used?  I am trying to find out if visitors really want to see the supply list or not.  Thanks for your input!!

Been a little while since I posted.  Went to a card class this week and got a new stamp set.  Sorry its kinda dark, its at night and my lighting is not what I want/need it to be and I have not really been able to figure out a good cheap way to fix that.  Let's see I recently finished my collection of Tim Holtz distress inks, have them all now, and almost all of the distress markers.  They are a lot of fun to use.

Here is my interpretation.  I have to say I found it more difficult since I really couldn't find one of my stamps that would really lend to this technique.  I almost did butterflies, but the person this card is for is male, so that really limited it for me.  I think I need to get more stamps that have multiple sizes of the same image.

Pinkalicious - use your favorite shade of pink and add satin -- either flowers, ribbon or fabric.
Here is my take on this fun challenge!

I used Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge for the fun little 'stinky' guy, and the under layer, which is hard to see here, is printed with Blast Off pattern on the Imagine. On the top layer, originally I had it white, then decided to get out several of my Papretrey Inks and smudge him up! I drew stinky lines around him with a sparkly gelly roll pen. Then I used a pretty satin ribbon to finish this card off.

What a great incentive to think outside the box for this blog hop. I created this card using the Love You A Latte cartridge for the comfy chair, and the Cricut Craft Room to create the window with several plain rectangle shapes.

The stamp says, "through Rain or Shine you'll always be mine." Here are some close ups of the details of this card.

I used the acrylic sheet that some stamps came on for the 'glass' of the window. Behind the window is a raindrop paper, with a flower bush stamped on it using Papertrey Ink stamps. The paper is actually just one patterned paper, a Teresa Collins print, using both sides.

The chair is popped up with some popdots, and I used a Viva Decor pen to give the arms some dimension.

Cooking with Cricut #86

This week's challenge is for Brandon who is 4 years old and was in a tragic accident.  His story is here.

I thought I would do something a little different, since Brandon will be getting a lot of cards with this project.  So I made him his own door hanger, that he can hang anywhere.  I made it two sided and used Cricut Imagine Blast Off cartridge on white cardstock, some Viva Decor under a piece of clear plastic in the spaceship window, and some stickles for accent.  I was trying not to make it too thick so it can easily be mailed in a business size envelope.  I sure hope he likes it!!
